Moving Units: Tension War

It's been four years since the last Moving Units album Hexes For Exes. Their new EP Tension War is a stop gap release before a high profile gig at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on April 15.

With four new songs and two superfluous remixes - the Spirituals remix of Until She Says is boring as hell - this new release is mixed blessing. The new stuff feature their signature post-punk dance sound, but after a four year hiatus it comes down to just one new song per year for the LA trio. Pink Redemption will be floor filler, with vintage falsetto vocals, and Paris, New Mexico is heady mix of indie rock mashed with a dance beat. Until She Says is in its original format has a catchy hook that will appeal to college radio fans. Avoid the remixes and stick with the original originals.

Moving Units:
Blake Miller: vocals, guitar
Chris Hathwell: drums
Johan Boegli: bass
