The Leadership: Frontiers

Urbana (IL) band The Leadership go for a vintage garage rock sound - keyboards sounding like a purring river, lots of echo on the guitar and slightly hoarse vocals. Their album Frontiers is as not very 21st Century, but it will go down with the denim-clad dudes who still go out to see shows and buy albums.

Singer Jonathon Childers has come up with a collection of songs that channel the band's musical heroes (Led Zep, The Band). The Leadership is not a neo-classic rock outfit per se, but they go for and rough-and-ready approach of The Raconteurs and The Black Keys.

The Leadership:
Jonathon Childers: vocals, guitar
Jared Michael Park: guitar, keys, vocals
Chris "Treefingers" Jones: bass
Zane Ranney: drums
