Bibi Tanga and The Selenites: Dunya

Bibi Tanga was born in the Central African Republic and ended up in Paris. He teamed up with a musician who goes by the name of Professeur Inlassable. He named his band The Selenites, inspired by the HG Wells story about the people living on the dark side of the moon.

With Tanga's falsetto and story telling qualities in French, English and his native tongue Sango - he is a fiction writer too - and the Professor's extended knowledge of beats and quirks their album Dunya is a danceable album that is best experienced in the open air when the sun is setting - not quite drunk but the Red Wine is doing its job. With a lunching organ and tasty string sections topped with a bit of sax, the slow funk will work itself in, gently but unstoppable.
